Carpenter shares the “blueprint” he uses in “building” a quality collection from start to finish in an entertaining style. Tips and tricks for selecting, purchasing, processing, and promoting books in multiple schools. The journey begins with addressing when it’s best to purchase print or electronic formats, and access levels within those types. He’ll reveal advantages and disadvantages of vendors. As well as “tools” for showcasing and promoting library collections, and protecting the library collections.

The Wisconsin Educational Media & Technology Conference: Access for all is about how librarians serve as the library’s gatekeeper through the learning activities, displays, and promotional materials they create to promote intellectual and physical access. Programs like MakerSpaces (education), Battle of the Books, Golden Archer, etc. will be featured as strategies for increasing access for all while at the same time promoting the library media program
