Limited Capacity seats available

During this session we will go on a whirlwind tour of learning science and play, engaging in the three themes of the Field Day Lab: Games and Sims, Field Work and Learning through Design. We will hear stories of teachers in Wisconsin creating engaging learning experiences in partnership with our team. For example, theyardgames.org, a collection of 9 science games was made in collaboration with 9 WI science teachers and have been played 60,000 times nationally in just 3 months. We also have built new mobile tools like siftr.org with teachers, that allow anyone to create their own mobile citizen science app in just a few minutes. Our fellowship program recruits cohorts of teachers to explore a common theme together, such as having youth design videogames as a way to learn history. The session will conclude with a call to action, an invitation to collaborate with us in 2017.

I make and study games, mostly in schools but sometimes not. See fielddaylab.wisc.edu for my best plan to date.
